The number 13 is among the most controversial numerals throughout history until to this day. In Christianity, there were thirteen participants in the Last Supper. Among which Judas was the 13th disciple who betrayed Jesus. In Judaism, thirteen signifies a maturing boy becoming a Bar Mitzvah. Also, according to the Torah, God has 13 Attributes of Mercy.

Today, the 13th integer is sometimes considered bad luck. Friday the 13th on the calendar and on film denotes fear and misfortune. On the other hand, the number 13 is a lucky symbol in Sikhism. In sports, many successful athletes have worn the number 13 jersey.

Mishka’s Fall 2009 collection is entitled “Born Under a Bad Sign” which was photographed by Marley Kate. The clothing line focuses on American classics and the outdoors. Colors have subdued hues.
